Annual report

GlossaryReference

An annual report is a periodic filing a company must submit to its registry to keep its registration current — typically confirming its address, registered agent and officers, and paying a fee. Missing it can push an entity out of good standing.

Despite the name, some jurisdictions require these filings biennially rather than every year, and the exact contents vary.

The filing keeps the public record accurate, which is why report dates and the officers listed in them often appear on a company profile.
